As you say though, showing the community that there are queer cops and cops that have our backs is important. There are people who want to do us harm and without the police we are more vulnerable. An entrenched position of zero trust in cops will do nothing but heighten queer anxiety.

Really great piece. I agree with it. But perhaps more importantly it doesn't fall into lazy antagonism. Was a bit upset last year to see how many people in the queer community were just calling their peers 'woke' and not acknowledging the basis of at least some of their beliefs in genuine experience
