Many City of Toronto museums have special programs for the holidays: www.toronto.ca/explore-enjo...
For myself, I’ve booked a ticket to see the Unauthorized Hallmark(ish) Parody Musical (The Royal Theatre) with a friend.
That is extremely helpful info (I don’t ski or snowboard so I wouldn’t have known that). Thank you!!
Any tips for picking out a good pair of winter goggles? Yours seem to fit your helmet well!
Great video!
He’s clearly never tried to access the Beltline or Mud Creek during the winter time, which are basically unusable to anyone without crampons or a fat bike 😬
narrowing car lanes is a good way to force low-speed streets in addition to a way to provide bike lanes without getting caught in the province's stupid legislation.
bike on, toronto. the province can try, but this is a city that walks, bikes, and takes transit in huge numbers and that won't change.
What a great route! Nice way to connect some of southern Ontario’s best bike trails and make use of the GO train to start and end your tour.
This #BikeTO art-filled corridor looks pretty good during daylight, as well.
“There are few things that bring me as much joy as carrying a lot of weight and a lot of stuff on a bike”
Kudos to @myotherbikeisabike.bsky.social shining a bright light on #bikeTO adults who carry (not just kids!) by cargo bike 🚲 youtu.be/k9tW-yd0ucY
This is the way
I absolutely love this place. I just wish they had added in some temporary shade cover until the trees grow a bit taller!
Barbara Gray, city's general manager of transportation: “Education is the first line of defense”
Actually, no. Proper infrastructure that is intuitive to use and suitable for all ages and abilities is the first line of defence.
@lanrickbennett.bsky.social in @spacing.bsky.social sheds urgent light on bike mechanic policy and planning issues: “…with the growing number of pedal-assist bikes and heavy e-cargo bikes hitting Toronto streets… it’s not just a service issue; it’s a public safety risk.” spacing.ca/toronto/2025...
This helmet light is on the pricier side but it functions as both a front and rear light, so if you consider it to be $25 per side it’s actually a good deal! (No personal experience with this light) curbsidecycle.com/products/top...
I think the recommendation to use a helmet light is your best bet, but if you’re looking for a bolt-on light, Curbside has a few on sale at the moment. I have the Spanninga Elips Battery Rack Mount Rear Light on my rear rack and have been happy with it so far.
What are the vibes like with the move towards the east end?
Love that bit of trivia about Eglinton being the only street to cross all pre-amalgamation municipalities
Here's a beautifully produced video about Annette Gilbert (@cyclequeen.bsky.social), a school principal who rides her Gazelle Ebike 32km per day on her commute.

Get out of downtown! Take the subway to Warden Station and walk through Warden Woods on the Gus Harris Trail, then on to Taylor Massey Creek. At Cullen Bryant Park exit to Coxwell and take the Coxwell bus back to Line 2 subway.
I share your sentiment! I nearly fell off my chair when I read that people had the nerve to oppose an addition to a long term care home in a transit rich walkable neighbourhood!!! www.torontotoday.ca/local/city-p...
The Bosch motor on the Vektron is great and it totally flattens hills. The rear rack is very burley and I’ve carried tons of heavy stuff on it. The Vektron doesn’t have the cushy suspension or belt drive of the HSD/GSD lines though.
If it’s in your budget, consider a Tern Vektron! I keep mine in my unit, folded up in the entryway.
Inspiring stories of adults learning new skills later in life. I am in constant amazement of the capabilities of the human brain! www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...
This is such a pet peeve of my mine! They always do that to the quick release on my bike seat post, why?!?! 😩
I am reminded of this classic Planet Money episode ☺️https://www.npr.org/2019/06/12/731987365/episode-590-the-planet-money-workout
A cargo net and any reusable bag I have on hand has saved me in a pinch many times!
I see you left a little Easter egg in yesterday's column for today's readers 😉
Nice picks! You and @cassiesmith.bsky.social might enjoy Meaghan Hackinen’s cycling memoirs “Shifting Gears” and “South Away: The Pacific Coast on Two Wheels.” Similar vibes to Bicycling with Butterflies.
