I was never taught the links and I suffered for it. Neither my physics nor my math teachers did anything to link the two beyond just saying ‘use this rule here’ and my brain doesn’t play with being told to do stuff without any justification.

I hated math in school, it was just a bunch of rules that seemed pretty arbitrary and confusing. It took a book about the development of calculus and why it was created and actually explaining the relationship between the rules of math and physics that it finally clicked.
