Marketing is just as much of a long game as building the product. The earlier you start investing in it, the sooner you’ll see the results pay off.

Some actions can have an effect much later than when they actually happened, or their value lies in the “long tail” rather than in the event itself.

What I mean is this: some time ago, I posted Onigiri on HN. There was a traffic spike, not too many signups, and no payments at all.

9/ Don't be afraid to cut the crap and talk to people honestly & quickly. That would save you a lifetime.

8/ Simplify. Simplify. Simplify. You think it's simple? Cut it double again

6/ I should not be afraid spending some money testing different paid approaches.

I want to try newsletters, influencers & maybe some paid ads on specific resources in 2025

5/ I did SEO and didn't take off. I would try to cook it differently trying to build and expand main website structure

4/ I've spend NOT ENOUGH time on marketing. I need to spend MUCH MORE.

For Onigiri 2025 would be more marketing year then development. Yet we plan to add some features

3/ Simplifying & niching down helped me to with sales. I will continue doing it next year with @onigiritheone.

Because still there's more room to make it more specific and find the right niche & audience (see #2)

Building onigiri.one this year so far helped me to learn several things

1/ People do buy my product. This means it has value

2/ Yet there aren't much subscriptions yet. That means I still learning on distribution

Eager to experiment more with marketing. Want to get some profits for onigiri.one

We’re hitting $65 MRR and this will cover the costs for cloud for and other soft for both of our products.

Finally the break even point and tons of learnings made during this year.
