Oh my… this is very awesome. It’s dark fruity winey stouty barelley whiskey scrummy. Not thick. Superbly blended. Yes the alcohol has probably gone to my head after just a few sips, but it is a very grand beer. My first beer to score a 5 on untappd. Xmas 2022 gift.
Spent the afternoon at Track plucking hops from vines for the Manchester Hop Project. Good beer and company. Then a couple of drinks at Balance whilst we waited for the football traffic to clear.
@spencerpollard.bsky.social Got my copy of your Jaguar book today. Have flicked through it, looks fab. Will likely get the kit at some point, but expect to learn lots from the book regardless.
Had that one a while so decided to change it to another Hamster called Harlequin.
A hamster called Citra.
Left pic = red wine kit to go in our wooden pin to preserve/hydrate it while not in use for beer. Tucked behind is a Chimay Gold clone, first try. It will go into a corny keg tomorrow for a few weeks before serving. Right pic = our 5th flanders red which leaked overnight & the corny being cleaned.
Long, tiring week at work, but hit the bench 20:00–22:30ish yesterday. Started by priming the parts whilst still on runners, then moved on to cockpit construction.

Early on during the first Covid lockdown I had to crawl into the low roof space of our house to deal with an issue. And whilst I was not going to catch Covid being up there the 120+ years of dirt, the dark, and errie noises seemed much more unpleasant than when I’d laid insulation many years before.
From the evening of 14th March I’ll be attempting to build & paint this 1/48 Me272 in 48 hours as part of 48-48.org in aid of www.modelsforheroes.org.uk . Worldwide live streams and auctions of modelling goodies. Really looking forward to a whole weekend of bench time.
Oh dear, hope you and your family manage to stay safe and dry this evening and beyond. A pal in Gatley reports it to be very soggy and sent pics of the new airport relief road doing a very good river impersonation this afternoon.
Super build. Subtle weathering works well.
Super railway museum in the town too. bsky.app/profile/loco...
Discovered George Samuel Brewery whilst on hols in Sept. Thoroughly enjoyed their porter this eve. On untappd I’ve rated all their beers I have had at 4+ Great taproom in Shildon, Co. Durham. If I was to do a top 10 of my fave breweries I think they would be in it www.georgesamuelbreweryltd.com/home
It is a rather good spot for beer in Manchester. One of my favourite breweries & taps @balancebrew.bsky.social is also in the arches there.
Incredible.
Thanks, it was my first and so far only diorama. But I was please with it.
@bee-rs.bsky.social Enjoying your Centennial Smash. Good head, sweet malty aroma, slightly sweet taste, but not too much, good balance of hop flavour. Excellent for washing down leftover homemade curry, which was a chicken bhuna from the Curry Guy Bible @mrshelenbee.bsky.social recommended to us.
I really like the UN diorama and the Whippet tank. I’m a long way off putting my models in scenes, but I love the inspiration of pics like this and displays at shows.
Lemon gose. Brewed last weekend, bottled today. Tastes pretty good already.
Completed in April.
Scale modelling is my main interest at the moment & it is a good switch off from work. Following various FWW folks, but I lack time for my own research at the mo :-( Might post some homebrew stuff and the occasional hamster pic.

1) and 2) when related to 1).
Our hamsters, Sabro, Poppy (not our choice) and Citra say say hi to your rabbits. Sabro loves the hammocks my mum makes. 🙂
Working on a model of FWW trench scene while watching a live zoom lecture about 54th Division (known as the Sucked Oranges) by @stevejchambers.bsky.social of the Gallipoli Association.
