During the Gilded Age (1870s-1900), forensic psychologists were known as alienists (since psychology was just forming as a discipline in the 1870s). Alienists assessed whether or not a defendant was competent to stand trial, or, if already found guilty, should be placed in an asylum for sentencing.
The goal of a tariff is to raise prices on imported goods at the border. It is intended to increase the purchase of domestic goods; however, it often leads to the increase in the cost of products, so the consumer ends up paying more. #teachitforward
