#awp26 almost broke my backpack and my shoulders 🎒 but oh boy I would trade this experience and these connections with talented authors for for anything 🤗
My last day at #awp26 was a day of foraging connections with folks I'd only ever known online. Writing is often considered a solitary process, but with lovely folks like these supporting me, I'm anything but alone 🥹
#awp26 day 3 made me melt. So much support and love from women I admire. I met Victoria Chang @victoriachang.bsky.social (one of my all time favorite poets), met Elise Powers (lives up to her last name of being a poetic power house!). 🥹
Went to a speakeasy off-site and did hella line dancing 🤣
So incredibly lovely to meet you. ❤️
#awp26 day 2 started with the off-site Poetry in the Woods hike, followed by panels on experimental writing and after the debut. Lots of book fair fun and hanging out with pals @susanlleary.bsky.social @cromaguerawrite.bsky.social
An off-site with @wcsu.mfa and MFA friends filled my cup 💕
#awp26 day 1 was jam packed full of volunteering! Also @rozenwrites and I attended a "cringe and being earnest" off-site with poets al-ism, Jardana Peacock, Chen Chen, Steffan Triplett, Lydi Conklin, Jenny Xie, Kailah Figueroa, Sarah Wang!
So great to start the conference out with vulnerability 🙏
Honored to have a new poem in The McNeese Review, a journal I absolutely love! Thanks to editor, Michael Robins, and poetry editor, Gwenyth Wheat, for giving “Copyist” such a kind home and for inviting me to speak about my process in crafting it (included in the replies)! Check it out, friends! 💙
💞 Connect with me at AWP this year! I'm a featured reader for an Off-Site on 3/5/26, 4 PM EST at 1204 W. Mt. Royal Ave. ❤️ I'll have copies of my book; purchase one for $20 cash/Venmo. ❤️ Need a sub for a panel/off-site/open mic? Want to grab coffee or something? Let's meet up!

When you reject the trauma/attachment patterns handed down to you & refuse to contort into something that makes you feel ill in misalignment, you find beautiful things! Thank you Jane Wong for writing How to Not Be Afraid of Everything! This collection is meant to be paired with sunsets & jammies

What a different world we could have.
it's called throwback because if you recognize the songs you're likely to throw out your back. not many people know this
I have a sweet interview posted with @sevenstory.bsky.social ! Check it out 🤗
On 2/15, I was part of a Love Latine poetry reading at @bluecactuspress
and with @claudiacastroluna @sachavez81 @pigeongirl @warshingtonian @poetruiz
It was so special to hold space for pain & to promote safety/love in these bleak times. Community is the light that cuts through the dark
Another great day to:
Buy books
Call your reps
Support small businesses
And fight the patriarchy!
Even small acts of resistance are resistance! ❤️

So, the National Endowment for the Arts announced today that they are reworking the guidelines for all 2026 grants and will be prioritizing projects that center the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It's now just a propaganda fund.

Reminder #tacoma #washingtonstate ! We have a super awesome lineup of poets coming up for Valentine's weekend!
I loved writing this poem as an homage to @titaniayellow.bsky.social 's joyful language in her own poems.
Whenever I start to feel anxious I immediately have another coffee and scroll through the worst news imaginable on my phone and omg it does not help at all
