I’m not against paying taxes to support society, but how is it fair to tax something as volatile as Bitcoin? One year it’s worth €100k, the next €25k, yet you still pay tax on “wealth” you don’t have. Why is this the case in the Netherlands @belastingdienst.bsky.social?

Haha. It makes sense that these roads are familiar or that they remember the maps quite well, but it’s like they’ve memorized them for a topography exam tomorrow.

Am I the only one who never knows where I am when someone asks, “Where are you driving?” I’ll be on some random highway. Meanwhile, with barely any info, others go, “Ah, the A16, hectometer post 32.1, between this city and that one!” Why do they know this?

Shining a light on our hypocrisies helps us see our biases. Your ‘normal’ is just your perspective, shaped by your culture and upbringing.

We understand beauty because we've seen ugly. We know joy because we’ve felt pain. Without contrast, we'd know neither.
