People cycling on Edinburgh's City Centre West to East Link (CCWEL) protected cycle route, as it runs along West Coates, a main road connecting Roseburn to the city centre. Screenshot of a map showing locations of 48-hour traffic surveys conducted in Edinburgh over 24th and 25th September 2025, with each location marked by a pink dot. Dots are scaled to represent the level of cycling modal share recorded at each location, with larger dots denoting larger cycling modal share. As an example, large dots representing Melville Street in the centre of the image, and nearby Leith Walk, denote relatively high cycling modal share of 9.5% and 9.7% respectively. Line graph, titled "More bikes than cars at all rush hour travel peaks on Glasgow's South City Way". The graph shows counts of cars (pink line) and bikes (blue line) on Glasgow's South City Way route on Victoria Road, over the 48-hour traffic survey period. For the first time, more bikes than cars were recorded on Victoria Road at all peak travel hours (8-9am and 5-6pm). Data captured over 24th and 25th September, 2025. Two adults and a young child smile as they cycle together on a new protected cycle lane on Goosecroft Road in the centre of Stirling.

Among the findings:

➡️ For the first time, more journeys were cycled than driven during all surveyed morning & evening rush hours (8-9am and 5-6pm) on Glasgow's Victoria Road
➡️ Nearly 10% of journeys on Edinburgh's Leith Walk and CCWEL are by bike
➡️ Cycling growth in Stirling

🛢️ U.S fossil fuel industry funded Trump.

🇻🇪 Trump overthrew the Venezuelan gov’t to exploit world’s largest oil reserves.

💣 Trump starts war, choking off Middle East oil and gas supply.

💰 Oil hits $100+ a barrel.

📈 U.S fuel companies make billions.

💸 Follow the money.

A reminder that humans in cars - notably omitted from this thanks to motonormativity - kill 1.2m people every year

These parked vehicles drivers’ interpret double yellow lines rather inconveniently for those of us wanting to use the dropped kerb.

Every time a politician or campaigner tells you that not everyone can cycle or that we need to bring everyone with us or that we need to balance modes and priorities ask yourself what have they done about all the cars...

(Answer: probably hardly anything useful)

Glad you were able to cope with the delicious sounding cheesecake.

Maybe there will be a Donauwelle further on?

Facing the climate and nature crisis head on is the first step in rising to the challenge. It's time to restore hope.

This one resonates with me the most. Especially after some of my politicians wring their hands everytime someone claims they weren't consulted.

The quickest way to getting nothing done is to allow goal post moving and consensus chasing.

A couple of questions:

1) Can anyone recommend any (critical, early) reviews of Pride in Place that I might not have found?

2) Is anyone familiar with examples of Pride in Place boards talking about or engaging with space for play? I have found a few but guess there are more.

Thank you!

Fitting it all in can be a challenge. Today’s trip-chain plus incidental cardio vascular exercise included a gym visit and a supermarket shop. Living in the city near decent infrastructure makes it easier to run errands and stay fit. #activetravel

Wonderful to pop along to see these amazing women recognised for their work empowering other women to cycle. From Cycle Sisters' Samra Said, to the amazing Emily Chappell, to campaigner Jean Dollimore, these names on Santander Cycles are a recognition of people transforming lives through cycling 💪

A headline from GB News stating: Motorists switch to using public transport to avoid paying £5 daily congestion charge

In shock news, motorists have switched to public transport to avoid paying the Oxford Congestion Charge.
A spokesperson* said: "This is exactly what was meant to happen, and it did."

Image of busy walking street with shops on the ground floor and other uses (offices, apartments) above. The text line says “Wait, we’re afraid of walkable distances now?”

Tag line of the Urban Truth Collective at the bottom.

Conspiracy lovers and opportunistic politicians, with some wealthy folks working behind the scenes, have been trying REALLY hard to make us scared of the simple idea of having more things nearby, and more choices in how to get them.

Weird, right? #UrbanTruth

I've had the chance to chat with Martin about his project, and it's one of those ones that's really poised to make a positive difference in forumulating mobility policy.

Keep an eye on this one.

The midday walk to the shops was hindered by #pavementparking again. No way a buggy or wheelchair able to use the pavement here. BTW that is a secondary school and nursery across the street.
