Totally fair! It was a great RPG but not one I'm itching to replay. I loved Legends Arceus and Scarlet/Violet but I had very low expectations going in- Here I can feel myself getting giddy to explore this world already!

Aaaah Alola's currently my favorite region, and I'm feeling the same hype!! Something about these tropics always lead to a fun time 😂

I started off with Red version and have enjoyed every generation since. It’s not much, but I wanted to play a little something to celebrate.

I love em! But my guess is that you're getting that impression because the first time we're seeing them is in an entirely new lighting engine to the usual Pokemon games!
