I don't blame you! The marketting for these games has been consistantly terrible at showing off what the actual gameplay is like π
I'm the same way on Animal Crossing, but Pokopia (and the DQB ganes that preceeded it) are very different! Way more goal-oriented, the game's always giving you something new to do!

New family
Totally fair! It was a great RPG but not one I'm itching to replay. I loved Legends Arceus and Scarlet/Violet but I had very low expectations going in- Here I can feel myself getting giddy to explore this world already!
Aaaah Alola's currently my favorite region, and I'm feeling the same hype!! Something about these tropics always lead to a fun time π
