It's definitely good to be in a position to be entertained by it.

Ugh, that sucks! And doesn't surprise me. Luckily, my experiences playing AoS and 18xx games have been with folks I know. Some of them are very good at the games, but they understand new players will be a bit unpredictable. But also - they aren't flaming assholes.

Not all games are the same.

The statement feels so vague. You can see that in the replies here, as people interpret it a bit differently. Of course, the replies are almost universally negative for good reason. Almost any interpretation makes it feel like misguided advice at best.

WE WON! After 42 days of striking we have a tentative agreement in hand that protects our existing 4 day work week, establishes a minimum salary, and adds protections against AI replacing jobs at our workplace!

If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you hit up their booth and let them show you this fun dice chucking game. Throw the dice, choose your ingredients, feed your customers!

I spent a ridiculous amount of time creating a spreadsheet for one of my games based on poker-like hands. The result was pretty "custom" to the game, plus I doubt all the math was completely correct. I decided it was close enough for my purposes. Poker odds are a wild ride!

The marmot! This is my favorite of the animals included in Cascadia: Alpine Lakes. Their whistles are amazing, and I once had a lovely whistling conversation with one in the mountains out here.

Sounds like a missed opportunity to me!

I wade into FB posts about public transit and electric vehicles to see how ridiculous the negative comments can get. "Yeah but..." is one of like five different rhetorical responses folks (and surely bots) use. To me they sound like fools, but they figure flooding the zone with negativity works.
