The LZ collaboration has released results that extend the experiment's search for low-mass #darkmatter and set world-leading limits on WIMPs. It was the first time it has detected signals from the sun's neutrinos. Congratulations to our researchers Robert James and Theresa Fruth and all involved! 🧪

We might be unlocking one of the universe's great mysteries, but that doesn't mean we don't have to do the chores!

As equipment arrives in the lab, it must be cleaned before it is installed and tested.

All of this is in preparation for the arrival of the SABRE South #darkmatter experiment! 🧪

It's a wrap on another collaborative, engaging and inspiring Annual Workshop of #DarkMatter scientists from across Australia!

As we near the end of the year, we are energised by what we have learnt and what 2026 holds. 🧪

It's not very often you hear a member of the audience blowing raspberries during a presentation, but we're happy to hear gorgeous baby noises at our Annual Workshop!

It has been fantastic to see the light relief our CI's little one has brought to our deep dives into #darkmatter research. 🧪

We've arrived in Canberra for the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Dark Matter Centre! Our members have travelled from Melbourne, Adelaide, Western Australia, and Sydney to attend this event.

We are looking forward to sharing knowledge and ideas throughout the week.

Congratulations Elisabetta Barberio on being awarded the Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

It recognises a commitment to international collaboration, and the knowledge that in science, we are more together. 🧪

The SABRE South #darkmatter experiment has reached an exciting milestone with the arrival of a glovebox in the Stawell Underground Physics Lab.

Scientists will use the glovebox to protect the experiment's ultra-pure crystals from exposure to air, which would cause them to degrade. 💎🧪
