once when I was at a CVS, police removed a very drunk man from the store, but left his handle of vodka behind. after the commotion died down, an elderly woman behind me left the line, filled her empty Starbucks cup to the top with booze, put the bottle back by the bathroom, and walked out the door.

I think what really needs to happen re: The Game Awards is we all need to boycott it. it goes beyond Future Class; the game awards exist to push marketing at people. it's not a real award show and it's not produced by people who care about gamedevs at all. we're just props.

Also can video game journalists, please, please stop framing QA as a 'gateway' into the industry or a way for people to get their foot in the door so they can go into 'more creative' disciplines? QA is its own specialized field which requires very capable and specialized professionals.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.

It is very clear the gutting of Teen Vogue is about silencing their excellent political coverage. Corporations want you uninformed and shut off from meaningful journalism. And they’re staggeringly successful at it so far.

Your eyes didn't deceive you -- Game 7 really did have the most wild swings all time Game 7 of the 2025 World Series was one of the wildest, and to some extent that’s expressed as easily as β€œa deciding World Series game went to extra innings,” which had happened just twice before in b...

Wrote about how Game 7 not only had two of the five most impactful plays in history, it also had..

- the most impactful out ever
- 3 of the top dozen plays ever
- the most plays that swung championship WPA by at least 15% of any game ever (9)

The best noir movies to stream this #Noirvember Join the Noirvember project, streaming noir picks from Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock to hidden gems and modern neo-noirs.

My favorite part of curating an annual #Noirvember recs list from the Polygon staff is learning about noir movies I've never seen. There are some bangers in the "deep cuts" section here.
