On Wednesday, December 3rd a group of fifty students and allies on behalf of Abolish Frontex NL disrupted a networking event organized by Sefa during their ‘career week’ on behalf of Frontex.

Frontex seems to be planning to to copy the deadly Libya model in West Africa.

The agency will conduct aerial surveillance of the Canary route, with West African countries expected to pull back migrants trying to make it to Europe.

‼️We reject the normalization of border violence through academic partnerships and police training programs. Universities, local authorities, and EU member states must withdraw their support from these academies immediately!

Every euro invested in Frontex training means more pushbacks, more deaths at sea, and more suffering for people on the move.

These Academies are nothing less than a militarized training ground to increase capacities for border violence, inhumane detention, deportation, and denial of safety to millions of people on the move. They are laying the ground for a transnational infrastructure of exclusion and control.

Frontex is expanding its repressive border regime through training programmes. In Warsaw the first dedicated Training Center is set to open in October 2026. In over 40 so-called Partnership Academies all over Europe border guards are trained under the banner of “security” and “European cooperation”
