Tiny Museum Exhibit #1

Over the summer, we visited a museum in an alley in NYC. It had two small exhibits the size of closets. This one featured pieces of rubble from all over the world. Each piece and its backstory were contributed by a diffent person. It was quite moving.

How nice that a museum has thought to do this. Just the other day I was trying to pair RPWP tracks with Kandinsky works.

In the midst of my busy season it is difficult to find time to namjoon out in the world but I'm still managing to feed my soul.

This morning I'm spending time with a favorite recording - Barber and Price performing his Hermit Songs.

Mid-early 20th century Art Song is my favorite genre. Today I'm listening to my favorite Britten/Auden song collabs.

Auden's poetry perfectly sums up my thoughts about Tae.

"Let the florid music praise...beauty's conquest of your face...

Anticipating Jin's concert and rewatching Goblin for the umpteeth time. Also, I went out to lunch with other humans. I think I can count that as Namjooning.

Art Basel shows more mid-priced art to a sombre market The world's biggest art fair takes place in Switzerland this week, with global crises creating a more sombre mood, according to participants, and galleries showing less expensive works amid a slump at the top end of the art market.

A little blurb about Art Basel..

Another great Bangtan exhibit. There were oodles of great photos, iconic outfits, and Jimin-specific objects. An ARMY's paradise.

They provided magnifying glasses so we could see the details of Hlima af Klint's work. The exhibit is more than just botanical drawings. I highly recommend it.

His work amazing and diverse. Photos don't do it justice. My favorites were his mosaics and textured paintings. Not to be missed.

Sculptures of Ruth Asawa. So much going on here. Love the shadows, too. It's part of the Woven Histories: Textiles and Modern Abstraction exhibit.

Highlights of this visit were Hilma af Klint (the reason for my visit), Jack Whitten, and Woven Textile exhibits.

The Golden exhibit was fantastic! IYKYK Highly recommend.

The Noguchi museum is lovely. Was unfamiliar with his work and pleasantly surprised to learn about his collabs with Martha Graham.

Cooper Hewitt exhibit focuses on concepts of home. Not to be missed. It's very moving.
