Wasabi flavored green peas

Impulse-bought these at Uwajimaya, absentmindedly popped a handful in my mouth, and they blew my ears off. My brain is now 11% wasabi. Two thumbs up.

my favorite bluesky arguments are the long drawn-out ones where person a responds via direct reply and person b exclusively answers through quote-posts. it's like seeing two people arguing on the street with one person facing sideways and shouting into the open door of a baskin robbins

Sitting in Zeitgeist Coffee, I've watched several people attempt to open the front door by pulling, fail to recognize that it should be pushed, and then walk away despite seeing many people inside.

I like what he had to say about identifying how the kinds of masculinity you've grown up with or have been indoctrinated to believe is correct is actually harmful. And that what is attractive to others is not these regressive ideas of "being a man"

I know everyone is dunking on this but, having gotten to know a few young men recently, they really do need this information. A lot of older men do, too.

It's really weird to demand accountability from a NYC mayoral candidate for a deadly NYC shooting rather than the current NYC mayor, an ex-cop who campaigned on a "tough on crime" platform and promptly got indicted for crimes

We are defintely not saying that ESPN’s biggest stars, Stephen A. Smith and Pat McAfee, are anti-union. We have no info on that, and we certainly aren’t reporting it here.

That said…

We do have eyeballs and ears. And we watch a lot of ESPN. And we notice things. Things that come up around the fact that the current CBA between Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association expires on Dec. 1, 2026.

Things like Stephen A. Smith, someone who is very quick to demand better pay and job safety for himself but just as quick to absolve himself of that concern for others, calling for Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper to be suspended for getting in the face of MLB commissioner Rob Manfred when it sounded like he might start talking about a salary cap.

Things like Pat McAfee, hater of β€œsuits,” doth protesting too much when the topic of a work stoppage came up on his show on Tuesday.

β€œThe die-hards will be there on the other side,” he said. β€œThey'll be jaded, they'll be pissed, but they'll be here on the other side. Everybody else gets jus,t like, ah, f*ck off… We got billionaires and millionaires fighting each other…

β€œThe work stoppage thing, not good for sports fans.”

McAfee then chastised UFL quarterbacks (misidentifying them as the XFL) for holding out after receiving a β€œnegligible” salary bump from the league in Year 2.

β€œLet's go ahead and shut the f*ck up and just be happy that we're playing football for a living,” he said.

Now that’s the kind of talk about workers and work stoppages that β€œthe suits” must absolutely love.

I would NEVER say that Stephen A. Smith and Pat McAfee are anti-union. There's no journalistic basis for me to say so.
