Societal Costs of a Measles Outbreak
We estimate the economic burden of a measles outbreak from a societal perspective, including public health response costs, direct medical costs, and productivity losses.
Measles outbreaks cost A LOT of money. Societal costs of the 2018 Clark Co, WA outbreak cost society-the taxpayer-$3.4 million ($47β479 per case or $814 per contact).
Cost of measles vaccine=$25 per dose ($50 for a 2 shot regimen) + MA/RN to administer.
