“OA has already reduced participation by researchers from many middle-income countries. This model imposes a growing bias in scientific publishing, with clear consequences for the inclusiveness, fairness & global representativeness of fields like #ecology”

It’s been revealed that the Luxon government ‘kicked the tyres’ on game-changing solar subsidies to cut power bills but decided to let us keep paying rising prices - and then to make it even worse with costly gas imports:

How the oil and gas industry helped rewrite New Zealand’s drilling rules A paper trail shows just how far ministers went to accommodate the industry's wishlist, including giving it access to draft laws.

"Internal documents show how the sector repeatedly lobbied Resources Minister Shane Jones to dilute New Zealand's cleanup rules for ageing oil fields. Rules brought in to protect taxpayers after the 2019 Tui Oil Field collapse left the state burdened with a $300m bill."

this is why I stopped using spotify. I buy albums on Bandcamp fairly often. I love finding new music. I tune in to my university's radio station for shows that showcase genres I like, so I can find them on Bandcamp. If i decide I want a streaming service, it'll be Qobuz, probably.

You can see a breakdown by category, and look up your specific ward, too. If you want to avoid biasing yourself, you can also click the little 👁️ icon at the top left to hide the candidate's name/image. You can then 💜 the policies you like, and at the end, it will show you who aligned with most!
