“Hey listen to me, okay? You aren’t a jerk for telling them and even they will tell you that you will never be.” Joel moves and sits beside Violet to be console her.

“I know they might have acted on impulse, kiddo but I do know that you aren’t the one they are upset with. I promise you, okay?”

“No, that’s okay if she is having fun with friends, it is going to be perfect even if it is just us three. Would you be okay with that Violet?”

Joel smiles between Stephanie and Violet “You are still getting use to me, it would be okay if you would prefer having your mom and your sister here.”

“What happens if he is like Cascina, only this time he kicks and kicks until it is you that settles him down until he falls asleep.”

Joel smiles and continues gently caressing Persephone’s bump whilst Joel is looking into Persephone’s eyes and smiles “Wouldn’t that be something, my darling?”

“You do? Of course you do! You would not do otherwise. Can I compliment you a lot more often Darling? I would love too, and I can see how happy it makes you and I love seeing you happy.”

Joel is smiling happily and then presses a loving kiss on Persephone’s lips whilst caressing her face gently

“I didn’t know that but I do now and I am going to tell everyone that will listen and by everyone I mean you and Sarah, mostly you, even though you already know because you said it.”

Joel clears his throat softly and then smiles at Persephone “And yes, I did realise that I started babbling.”

Joel laughs softly hoping to lift Violet’s spirits a little “There is a big possibility that your dad got it from me because of the typical older/younger brother trope.”

Joel gently cuddles Violet but also gives her a gentle squeeze “You know that your siblings will likely do the same to you.”

“I am sure she will be upstairs playing or watching some cartoons with her mommy. I’ll go find here and be right back, if that is okay.”

Joel looks back outside over his nephew and niece whilst smiling “I’m so happy my brother has you all, and Ruby. Where is Ruby? I thought she’d be outside.”

“You know what I think Darling? I think those kicks are just our little one reminding us that he is here.” Joel smiles and starts caressing Persephone’s bump.

“Which also tells me that this little one is not going to like it if we don’t give him attention within a certain amount of time.”

Joel let out a relieved sigh, there is a chance that he read somewhere that it can be upsetting for women if they are classed as beautiful in certain situations only.

“Thank goodness that you did, Darling and I am very flattered that you find me handsome as and not as a dad. I am flattered.”

“I will do my best to not apologise for every little thing, though I could forget on occasions but that can all be fixed with a gentle reminder.”

Joel smiles when he heard the beautiful sound of Persephone’s laughter and then Joel exhales in happiness “You sound so beautiful when you laugh.”

“It does, it helps many things.” Joel placed a comforting hand on Violet’s shoulder and then smiles warmly at Violet but also gives Violet a slight hug.

“I know I am not a very talkative man when it comes to my feelings Violet but losing you forever would be a painful experience. It would be.”

Joel smiles and cuddles Stephanie but also gives Stephanie a gentle squeeze because Joel reminds himself that Stephanie is pregnant.

“That’s so cute, maybe Violet would like to show Cascina? I know that Cascina would absolutely love the experience, especially if she can share it with her cousin.”

Joel laughs softly and gently caresses his wife’s hair but Joel also presses a kiss on Persephone’s lips

“I do agree, Darling. I think that our little boy is going to have your gentle nature but I think that is something we will both love because just like his sisters he is going to be perfect.”

“Are you absolutely sure that you want to stop at two?” Joel playfully teases Persephone, though Joel is smiling whilst watching Persephone looking at her bump.

“I also love the memories, baby. You were so beautiful all through the pregnancy, not that you aren’t beautiful not pregnant! Oh no.”

“Noted. As you can tell I am very much unfamiliar with being in love, I never have been, not really and definitely not in the way I am in love with you.”

Joel clears his throat and smiles “I also don’t think I would be able to explain what I am apologising for exactly. I will stop doing that.”

“There’s no guide book to parenting. We just do the best that we can and hope that it is good enough.” Joel then gently cuddles and smiles whilst they are looking out over Violet and Benji.

“She is very happy and it is because she has amazing parents and extended family who love her deeply.”

Joel looks at the letter and furrows his brows before he looks at Violet before exhaling and then gives Violet a comforting hug.

“I’m really sorry if this question comes across as dumb, Violet but can you and this… Strange. Can you find a safer and less lethal approach? I’m sure there is one.”

“It is amazing and the fact that both of our children kicked around a lot in there I would even say that they could have been professional soccer players.”

Joel smiles and then leans down to kiss Persephone on her bump, stands up and kisses Persephone on the lips “How would you feel about that?”

“Oh, I definitely agree, my love. He definitely loves hearing us both brag about it.” Joel smiles and caresses Persephone’s bump some more.

“He is a very active little guy tonight, Darling. I think he is trying to remind both of us that he loves us both very much. What do you think Darling?”

Joel doesn’t even hesitate and nods his head before smiling “You know that would be pretty great, amazing even.” Joel then leans in, gentle holds Persephone’s face and then kisses her lips.

“Now, maybe I should apologise for kissing your lips but I don’t think that you would want me too, right?”

Joel is patiently waiting for the little kick from their little boy to kick and when he does Joel smiles immediately, remembering back to the time when it was Cascina kicking away in there.

“You are amazing Darling, both you and your body. Thanks to both of you our little boy is happy in there.”

“I don’t know, darling. You did carry our little Princessa for nine months all whilst it was your body that built all the features she has.” Joel is now holding Persephone’s lower back whilst caressing it.

“Plus, I love hearing how your amazing body made our children, please continue bragging.”

Joel is blushing a shade of pink and looks at Persephone whilst smiling but then he clears his throat “You know, I don’t think that Sarah would mind you being her stepmom.”

Joel lightly presses a hand on Persephone’s lower back and smiles again “If the date goes well we could make it official.”

Joel lets out a low laugh and nods his head because he can see clearly exactly what Stephanie means. Joel then guides Stephanie to her daughter so they can hang out together

“I really think it is meant to be and I can see that you all adore each other. You and Tommy are both amazing parents too.”

Joel places the drinks down in front of himself and Violet and nods his head “Of course you can kiddo, tell me everything. You can tell me things honestly.”

Joel is looking at Violet so Violet knows that he is paying full attention to what Violet is going to say “I’ll help you the best I can.”

“But that isn’t the complete truth Darling, is it? You can tell me anything. Please tell me what is bothering you, Darling.”

“Truth be told I am so glad that she is having most of your features darling, whilst also mixing mine in there just a little bit.”
