I feel like if you can master Reaper and VCV Rack Pro you can do just about anything. Supplementing Reaper with the free MeldaProduction library of plug-ins greatly increases its functionality too.

I absolutely love how solid a piece of software REAPER is. I just had my first crash in I don't even know how long and it was only because I updated my graphics drivers without restarting and then tried to open VCV Rack which suddenly couldn't access OpenGL. (So not REAPER's fault!)
