Since its first technical conference in 1960 in London, England, EMBC is known for convening academics, clinicians, industry, students and researchers in the biomedical engineering and medtech community. 3/4

This gave him the opportunity to interact with his peers and explore a wide range of topics the conference offered, such as nanotechnology, synthetic biology, neural and rehabilitation engineering, decision support systems and quantum in life science, to mention a few. 2/4

Abstract: Geometric flows are ubiquitous! They describe the evolution of interfaces and surfaces in continuum mechanics, can be used for the classification of abstract manifolds, and even emerge in algorithms in data science and machine learning. In this talk, I will show various examples of geometric flows and highlight their common structure. Even in the simplest examples, singularities will inevitably appear. I will show how geometric measure theory allows to make the formal picture rigorous in the presence of these singularities.
