yjh tries not to think about what that means about him.

yjh hears kdj's friends teasing him about getting the princess treatment from swk back when they were together, and kdj nervously trying to laugh it off.

he realizes it's different, when he's unable to look away as kdj laughs and smiles so brightly at swk's jokes, realizing he's never made kdj laugh like that in their two years together.

except at the brunch, yjh watches as kdj puts his tomatoes in swk's plate like it's natural and swk eating his tomatoes for him, seeing how much happier kdj looks when his preferences are respected instead of getting scolded for being picky.

maybe it happens at a get-together with friends. yjh knows kdj kept in-touch with his only ex. no big deal. yjh remained friends with his ex-wife too, and he knows kdj isn't that kind of person.

in those lives, kdj pays him little attention besides a small compliment to his face. in those lives, kdj meets someone else at work— someone who shares the same interests, someone who makes him laugh, someone he can spend time with on a daily basis and banter with easily....

yjh figures out the pattern. the lives wherein kdj has a loving present father, has never tried to kill himself, and lives a good life... the lives wherein kdj has no reason to obsess over someone who's like a 'protagonist'.

those are the worst.
