Trump's ego will not allow him to climb down and his fanatic base is too stupid to see the danger. He wants to double down on the death and destruction to move oil. The Iranians don't have to stop everything. They only have to take out a ship or two. They are playing on their home turf. Idiots.

Trump is going to put troops on the ground in Iran. Its a country of 90M with a standing army. Iran's hits on Gulf neighbors *might* be a mistake, but the logic here is unsound to me. Neither Qatar or Saudi have the ability to move an unhinged, moronic US administration to accept reasonable terms. Iran's force multiplier is economic pain delivered by shutting down Gulf oil infrastructure
