Such an incredible novel. I stayed up late to finish this; the characters dip like hummingbirds in and out of a plot that is less about what is happening and more about...: how do we cope with the things that happen to us?

I've always loved Toni Morrison ever since I read Beloved and it was a pleasure to read The Bluest Eye over the weekend. What a gorgeous mix of surrealism, bildungsroman, the societal impact of standards of beauty, and unrelenting anger at a world that is deeply, deeply flawed.

Just finished this and I couldn't stop reading it! Who knew that time travel could be so erotic.... Such a perfect travel book, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a slightly smutty adventure novel!
