#theimaginedbookcover2025 art challenge begins! My entry for the prompt “Daisy Sweetappme lives next door”.

I don’t like Insta’s algorithm but can’t hate it for the inspiring art challenges over there! Sometimes I just need it to draw more!

The difference between the page and the screen is that the act of reading itself is a creative process. You have to create the world being presented on the page in your mind. The screen hands it all to you.

Yes this is why I always print out my pages to have the flip feeling 👌🏻

An illustration of a kid running (walking?) with his bird friends. All the birds decided to walk with him. The kid is holding a net for some reason which escapes me at this point. I think I originally wanted all of them to be chasing and catching insects, but I ran out of time. Done in Procreate.

Illustration depicting an autumnal scene, showing a garden surrounded by other flats and houses. Growing in the middle of the garden is an apple tree which branches connect all neighbours who can be seen in all the little windows surrounding the tree. There is no fruit on the tree, only yellow leaves. Some of the characters that can be seen in the windows include a mum reading to her baby by a candle, a grandma and grandchild sharing a warm drink and a person calling their cat, which can be seen walking on the right wall of the garden. In the garden, a girl is carrying a giant orange pumpkin and an older woman on the left is passing some jam over to her neighbours above with the use of a basket and rope. A lively illustration showing the spirit of community and sharing.
