โNothing muchโ as in, nothing dramatic. No giant swooning romance, no huge explosions & chases, no 300 pages of anxiety coz the murderer is in the houseโฆ
But actually a lot happens, it just happens quietly and indirectly.
There should be a category for novels like โstories where it seems nothing much happensโ coz I think maybe those are the kinds of novels I tend to like.
03.03.2026 19:00 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 6 ๐ 0I donโt really like the trend but Iโm also not sure I understand how this gives them a lot to work with? Did you mean like with a image generator? Everyone posting hasnโt been a kid for a long time so, in a sense, I canโt see them at direct risk otherwise.

In Singapore, the festival is known as Chap Goh Mei. I am told โchap gohโ means 15, as it is the 15th day of the new lunar year.
Interestingly it is also considered Chinese Valentines Day, and I spent 27 years in SG totally not knowing this ๐
I am also very wuthuring sometimes thanks to IBS ๐ ๐จ

Moby Dick was actually also just The Whale.
Although from what my husband told me of the plot (he just read it), perhaps it should have been โan assortment of New England whaling facts and statistics, also featuring a white whale and a dude with OCDโ
Art from the back cover of Amy Wu and the Lantern Festival. Amy holds a lantern and she stands next to her dad. Behind them are a string of lanterns against the night sky.
Cover for Amy Wu and the Lantern Festival by Kat Zhang and illustrated by Charlene Chua.
Amy wishes everyone a happy Lantern Festival ๐ฎ!
This festival marks the end of the Lunar New Year celebrations, and features (you guessed it) lanterns & eating sweet rice balls called tang yuan.

Yeah I kinda thought it was something close to withering, but oh well.
This is like when I learned what โcorrugatedโ meant and it was less cool than what I imagined it to be (I canโt recall what I previously thought it was though).
I guess Wuthering Heights does sound better than Windy Hill though.

Today I realized I never knew what โwutheringโ actually meant.
So I looked it up.
Itโฆ just means windy ๐ฌ๏ธ

The Lane Anderson Award honours the very best science writing in Canada today, both in the adult and young reader categories.
I have said that if I could afford to consistently see a therapist to get better, I probably wouldnโt have half the problems plaguing me in the first place ๐๐ธ

Some day librarians will be able to just look after books again.
But till then -
They go straight to my spam folder so I donโt see them anymore. But occasionally I do check the folder and see them there, so I guess itโs still going round, like a chain letter that wonโt die.

Is anyone I know using this? Itโs supposed to be like Goodreads but indie and anti-AI

Fun fact! If you share this starter pack around, the really cool artists in it will get more followers, and I think thatโs really neat ๐ฅฐ

These houses look totally liveable btw, not like abandoned farmhouses you have to fix up.
They seem relatively urban, like you can walk 20min to a train station.
I just saw an IG post for some lovely and insanely cheap (wellโฆ by what Iโm used to) houses in Japan.
I have no idea how easy it is to actually live in said house if you donโt already have some sort of Japanese visa though, *sob sob*
I just noticed that @secondstory.bsky.social Second Story Press has a new logoโwhich I never noticed when it was announced last yearโso Iโm giving a little love to this amazing #Canadian publisher. canlitforlittlecanadians.blogspot.com/2026/02/seco...
