Holbein - Artists' Gouache - 60mL Tubes - Series A Excellent handling qualities, very high chroma, superlative hues and exceptional lightfastness. The density and the handling characteristics are well balanced.

Not sure where in BC, but I get it mostly from from Gwartzmans. They are sold out right now but you can ask them when they might bring in more?

If you do come by, pls say hi!

I will recognize your PFP. I can't say the same about faces or real names though 😅.

For me I think it's sorta like, been that way for a long time, in terms of just not hanging out in real society much.

But lately, also trying to be more mindful of what I see, interact and react to online. Does it improve my life, does it help me improve anyone else's? If no, then it should go.

Why keeping to yourself can be healthy or harmful depending on your intentions You've heard of FOMO, but are you familiar with its distant cousin JOMO? Here's why intentionally "missing out" can work wonders for your mental well-being, and how to keep it from leading to isolatio...

Considering thing these days, pretty sure I am one of those that benefit from JOMO (Joy of Missing Out, apparently).

Yeah I get that. I complain to my husband that there are no more 'mom and pop' businesses anymore, coz everything now is expected to look like an artisan boutique. Sure maybe it's all Canva, but you're not allowed to look amateur anymore :/

Thanks! Ah yeah I have some of those sitting around from an old event, I'll be taking those (once I find them)

I’ll try; theres still some months before the event to psych myself up for it 😅

Yeah… I mean it’s nice to see as a visitor, but as an exhibitor, it’s just a lot unless you’re frequently doing shows/events.

Also, I don’t drive, so lugging it all around by myself is challenging (my 90 year old neighbor worries about me when she sees me carrying cardboard lol).

What is a foldable tiered display… 😅?

Mostly I’ll just be showing the early reader GN that is coming out in April.

Aside from that, I dunno… I don’t want to haul up too many books, they heavy!

Holbein does have a big tube of permanent white if you go through it a lot. I think its way too much for me (it’ll probably harden before I use it all) but if you burn through it then it might be an option?

I’m also sharing with a friend so it’s just 3ft table space. Have no idea yet what we’re going to display, let alone how.

We’ll manage though. At worst we can just toss some paper on the table and start doodling nonsense😅

TCAF table is paid for so guess I’m committed!

However since I hardly do shows, I’m not going to spend a lot on stuff for the table setup.

It’s going to be terribly plain by today’s table standards, but… I think I’ll just make peace with that & try to just enjoy being there in the first place.

😅 urm... maybe you can transfer it to something else like one of those small sauce containers (like the kind they put the soy sauce in at Chinese takeout places)? Make it less stress to wash the palette!

'It is usually 16 or 17, but it can be 18, but also it can be 12...'

This is why I normally just ask the publisher to give me a blank layout of the book to work from. It's just easier, plus they probably already costed things according to a particular page count.

Trying to explain the potential page/spread breakdowns in a 32 or 40 page PB to my husband and breaking my own brain in the process 😅

I did notice the small sparkles and was wondering if it was a Primatek! I put my DS in pans so... if it happens again, you could try to scoop it into an empty half pan to save it.

Found this note tucked into a middle-grade book at the used bookstore and it applies to so much more than reading. So…

Good job getting halfway through!

All novels should come with a note like that 😆

IDK if they did or did not follow her, I didn't check. I meant that they had a co-op effort going and that sort of thing takes planning (and involves money).

Oh it's not following her... she managed to get a tie up with the non profit. I didn't see the details, got kinda annoyed and hit block at that point.

I mean, you do you, hustle culture, gurl power, whatever...

But like...

I just wish orgs would take 5min to check and ask themselves whether there are any other authors/creators who maybe they could support first.

I was not very upset that an author with a blatantly AI cover followed me on IG.

I was upset that she managed to get library readings, and a non-profit org involved with her book.

Oh yeah, it also has a 'bestseller' sticker on it, because why not 🙄

… people do this?

How do you not go crazy listening to a whole book being read by the Micro Machines man (or Alvin from the Chipmunks)?

I mean, I told him he could just DNF it if he didn’t like it. But I think now he’s honour bound to read the whole thing 😆
