my black racer, for example, was designed based on ancient medieval depictions of death as a robed skeleton; but he is STILL, at his core, a knight in bright red and blue armor, riding skis, because that is the kind of otherworldly absurdity that made the original earn the "new god" title
Thank you! the idea with these is to try and make these characters feel like a mix between ancient gods from all cultures and extraterrestrial entities, all while keeping the core design principles (they needed to be colorful; ancient cultures use vivid colors, and so does kirby in his stories)
