To anyone who might need to hear this right now:
Remember that even if only ONE person enjoys the content that you create—YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL.
Don't get lost in the numbers. Just create what makes you happy. Someone out there is going to LOVE what you make!
And a little is a lot if it's enough.

19.10.2025 23:15 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'm curious now... Can something like VRChat be considered a "game"? Or are they more like a 3d chatroom/platform? But then, at which point can something like that be considered a *game*?
And would it fall under #StopKillingGames if their servers ever shut down?

I sure do love setting a release date thinking "yeah, that's enough time, I'll get it done".
Then suddenly I'm time crunching and spending 14 hours per day the last days because I miscalculated the remaining work left. Anyone else has gone through the same?

Most awkward thing ever
A screen full of settings and configurations. Uploader's Token, Actor's Local Folder... In Actor Data: Folder Name, Name (EN), Name (JP), Author, Author Website, Preview (Filename), Visibility, Tags... Variations... and a button to Upload Actor
I wonder what's this that we've been working on for 0.7.3... 👀

Is it bad time management when you have set goals for an update but you end up investing time developing a *future* planned feature?
So you end up doing it earlier than expected... But at the end of the day, it *is* something you were planning to do eventually... buuut...

"finally it's less work"
"oh wait, maybe implementing this new idea won't take THAT much time..."
...
"here is more work"
(Rinse and repeat)
I use DBeaver for managing my project's SQL database but every once in a while I use the Debian terminal to access it... and MY LORD, it was so scary at the beginning. Not me almost wiping the entire user table because I forgot a WHERE 😭
(Don't tell anyone else about this)

I think starting very early on is not *that* ideal if you're spending a lot more time thinking what your post may be or how to gather audience... But if it's just a side thing while you focus more on developing, I don't think it's *that* bad.
Depends on how much time you put away from development
Even if not *all* of your followers turn into downloads/sales for your game, the fact that they might repost your stuff or talk about it is already powerful by itself, since it may reach people who *will* become interested in your games.
It's a gamble, but I guess sometimes it's worth taking
I mean, I think it has to do more with visibility than anything else... Well, I'm speaking for myself, at least, but I can guess it plays a part as well for everyone else.
I see it as a way of getting yourself be known. The more people know you and repost your stuff, the more visibility you'll get

"hmm what if I change this one line tho"
*instant fix*

One thing I love about Linux is HOW EASY IT IS TO INSTALL PACKAGES. It's so convenient, and then you start realizing how cumbersome it is to install the same thing on Windows.
Granted, it can go both ways... but you start appreciating it eventually
Announcement made. Now I rest.
