Louisville served up some pretty awesome surprises. We came for the KY Derby Museum, but found a gorgeous historic district in Louisville and a #free #shakespearefestival in Central Park!

After all we have seen, I want candidates with strong policies & the receipts to back them up.

The system isn't broken- it functions as built. If we want it better, it's time to listen to those whose futures are on the line.

Fear of losing relevance hangs like an albatross

In addition to violating Mr. Mahdawiโ€™s First Amendment rights, the Rubio
Determination and Mr. Mahdawiโ€™s unlawful detention also violates Mr. Mahdawiโ€™s statutory rights
and due process rights.
PARTIES
8. Petitioner Mohsen Mahdawi is a Palestinian who was born and raised in a refugee
camp in the West Bank. He is a lawful permanent resident of the United States and has been for
the last ten years. He is a recent student of Columbia University, with an expected graduation date

International and Public Affairs (โ€œSIPAโ€), to begin in the fall of 2025.

Palestinian human rights upon moving to the United States.
22. Mr. Mahdawi is also a committed Buddhist and believes in non-violence and
empathy as a central tenet of his religion. In fall of 2021, he became the president of the Columbia
University Buddhist Association and led it for two years.
23. In fall of 2023, Mr. Mahdawi co-founded the Palestinian Student Union (โ€œDarโ€) at
Columbia University which โ€œserves to engage with and celebrate Palestinian culture, history, and
identity.โ€ Mr. Mahdawi co-founded this organization with Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian lawful
permanent resident who was also recently detained by ICE for his expressive conduct related to
Palestine.

Mr. Mahdawi appeared in numerous televised interviews and print news articles
regarding the military campaign in Gaza and related protests. In December of 2023, Mr. Mahdawi
appeared on 60 Minutes where he shared that, as a child, he watched an Israeli soldier shoot and
kill his best friend in the West Bank.
27. Throughout his time as a student and a leader of Dar and the Columbia University
Buddhist Association, Mr. Mahdawi was always willing to engage in dialogue with people whose
views and beliefs differed from his own. Mr. Mahdawi believed, and continues to believe, that
more speech is the solution to disagreement, rather than less, and that empathy and understanding
through communication are a way to resolve conflicts peacefully.

โ€ฆand a peaceful political solution. Mr. Mahdawi gave speeches at several of these protests. In his
speeches, Mr. Mahdawi advocated for Palestinian human rights, a permanent ceasefire, and a
peaceful resolution that affirmed the human dignity of all.
25. During one protest, Mr. Mahdawi vocally denounced an unaffiliated passerby who
made an antisemitic comment, chanting โ€œshame on himโ€. Mr. Mahdawi stated that โ€œwe are against

The Trump admin has just detained Mohsen Mahdawi, who:
โ€“has green card
โ€“was Columbia Buddhist club president
โ€“saw his best friend shot & killed by Israeli soldier
โ€“said "we are against antisemitism because antisemitism is a form of injustice, and injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"

Yesterday, I was in Indiana for work and asked if I could come to the Gov't Center to make a quorum for Health & Property. One legit notice given, a no-show, last minute cancel, and request to participate remotely(does not count toward the quorum)

Representatives have NO voice if they don't SHOW UP

Reddit is flooded with small businesses owners getting crushed by tariffs โ€” devastated by the thought of raising prices, firing workers, or closing up shop entirely.

Thank you, President Biden. It is unfortunate that now people are touring good news of a market up 3 of the last 4 years, consumer spending rising because wages have outpaced inflation. Someone ๐Ÿ™ take a snapshot of the economy after 4 years of Democratic policies

The direction youโ€™re heading matters far more than how fast youโ€™re moving. A slow step forward beats a sprint in the wrong direction. Stay focused, stay steady, and trust the processโ€”progress will come.

One of the biggest mistakes Democratic campaigns make is nationalizing everything. All politics is localโ€”and as Paul Wellstone would say: all politics is personal. We have a lot we need to fix, but finding local candidates who actually give a damn and will do the work is a good place to start.
