It preserves ruins of the indigenous tribes that lived in the area, from the Ancestral Puebloans to the Navajo. The monument covers 83,840 acres.

Bright green beginnings of daylilies March 1, 2026.
June 3, 2025 daylilies started blooming a showstopping orange highlighted with delicate yellow stripes down the center of the petals. Tons of unopened buds surround the day's star, waiting their turn to keep the whole month of June orange.
And the season begins. Daylilies just getting started this year and last year June 3 first bloom.
