I have been emulating since I downloaded NESticle from the school library on a floppy disk and was told to delete my roms after 24 hours. I've used pretty much every console emulator under the sun. 99 times out of 100 I'll use retroarch.

it requires just a little bit of extra thought into how you're setting things up but once you understand the dichotomy between retroarch system settings vs emulator core settings it opens up a world of possibilities

retroarch is pretty easy to set up and use, and its unified system makes setting up multiple systems a breeze

Marathon looks absolutely amazing. 1000% down with is visual aesthetic. The shooting feels great. The very first normal mission I deployed another player killed me in the first five minutes after I ran out of ammo. I will not be playing any more.

This is perfectly fine news. It does not change the situation that some people idly realized (and will in many cases stop thinking about) which is a galaxy of unique information, conversations and archives are locked into a proprietary conversation system run by a VC-backed company seeking profit.

I love being on the bleeding edge of computer, and was a windows insider build gal for a long time. Arch/Cachy have given me a few headaches when it comes updates breaking thing, but at least it was my fault for not checking the discord before running the update script.

The difference of course is MS forces the updates on you, where as you can set up linux install to be as good as you want and never choose to update if you don't want to, even if you *really* should.

The thing with switching to linux is that you are not necessarily moving to a more stable OS free from updates that add new bugs and break thing. Instead you are moving to a system where it's your fault if you choose to install the updates that introduce bugs and break things.
