Pretty much an iron law that the more unjustified a military campaign is on rational grounds, the more the aggressors will cite God's sanction. Leaders don't need to tell soldiers they're in a holy war when the nation is under attack; they do it when motivation to fight might otherwise be lacking.

This is Renee Good.
She was a mother of a six-year-old child.
She was an American citizen.
She described herself as a “poet and writer and wife and mom and shitty guitar strummer from Colorado.”
And she was gunned down in cold blood and broad daylight by Trump’s ICE agents.
The inevitable has happened. After months of state-sanctioned violence carried out in our communities at the hands of ICE officers, an officer has shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis.
Already, DHS is attempting to spin the story. But we are not disillusioned.
This rhetoric isn’t normal and we can’t let it become normal, no matter who is spewing the words. Placing religion alongside statehood is a five alarm fire, especially in a country that was so intentional about separating the two.
