art is a key vehicle for subversion & creativity allows you imagine your way out of hell, all while preserving the spirit fascism wants to take & replace with national identity.

i'm sure some good artists are obedient, but most of the best artists are weirdos & dissidents & in their own world.

that is the exact type of person fascism wants to get rid of, so the arts always suffer under fascism.

thus, art is not just resistance but a meaningful counter.
