How should a solo indie dev approach marketing? DIY or get help? How to split your time, what % of time on game dev, what % of time on marketing. Also, most effective marketing activities for a small solo dev?

So I recently had an ankle replacement. All went well, but looks like a lengthy recovery period. Not in the best place to release demo and game on Steam, but it’s coming soon, demo on the 30th!

Yeah, it may be illegal (not sure) but deffo the appropriate thing to do, and I imagine the owner would be grateful. It looks like the cop just wants to play the ‘I am the authority here’ game.

I'm thinking about keyboard input for RR2 on Mac and Windows PC. Imagine most people will use joypads? If not, maybe 1 or 2 players on keyboard, which keys should be default?

Ah yeah. The little notices, like speech bubbles from the car, I use them for all sorts, position changes, damage indicator, lap number, taunts from AI cars etc.

Yep, that's the one. It's not my original game, I was just paid to port it to the Beeb, I think it could have been a C64 game, can't remember.

Quid de Qwak ? Qwak is a particularly well-crafted game in the style of Lode-Runner / Bubble Bobble / Bombjack era, but with the level of polish of the Amiga era

Original Qwak was on the BBC. Before that, I made the BBC version of Dead or Alive for Alternative S/W and before that I had a number of unpublished games on the BBC, including ‘Zap!’ which was later released. The earliest game I remember making was space invaders on the BBC but with only 1 invader!
