Why does George Washington look like a disgraced humanities professor whose resignation was forced when he slept with MULTIPLE research assistants

Chotiner's genius isn't necessarily in extracting incredibly incriminating statements from the guilty, it's in making sure 1 of every 5 interviews is completely laudatory towards a deserving subject, which is enough to convince the other 4 of 5 interviewees that they're getting a glow-up.

The guy on the left was arrested and convicted for illegally selling missiles to Iran during the Reagan Administration. The guy on the right is a Fox News "military analyst" who thinks Iran shouldn't have missiles

Yes, same guy.

Here's the thing if you took the policy positions of Rs, Ds, and 3rd Way, Ds would win hands down on most issues. It's not clear whether 3rd Way's policy platform would poll second or last. It's not clear to me how adopting a less popular platform helps.

The only realistic option is an export ban. I don't know that they can legally get away with doing that, though.

And it would also invite massive retaliation by European and East Asian countries getting screwed over as a result.

If people want to take the Iranian government at its word that there was nothing on that frigate as it came back from India, they can. I think a good deal more suspicion is warranted.

He'd be an awful Secretaryof DHS, but there's a non-zero chance that Miller would scream at him (as he does everyone else in the WH), and should that happen, I suspect Miller catches the beating he desperately needs.

Not every aspect of the vaudeville routine that passes for Republican governance is funny, but watching Congressional Rs desperately attempt to refrain from saying *war,* only to have different members of the administration say war on a daily basis, is quite funny.

The key question for markets is whether that means the Straits of Hormuz and energy infrastructure in the Gulf will continue to be under threat through September. Because that is NOT priced in right now.

A frigate is a military vessel, and there's a pretty good chance it was in Indian waters to load up with RU munitions.

Participating in naval exercises in the middle of a hot war sounds pretty suspicious tbh.

It's likely to last longer, but someone told them the war couldn't drag into the midterms so they came back with the required answer.

among other things, it's very very funny to imagine Trump having granular knowledge and strong opinions about various obscure Iranian regime figures possibly in the running.

The first third of the Civil War was pretty disastrous from the Union's perspective.

That said, I'm guessing the Trump administration is just getting started.

President Donald Trump's chief of staff, Susie Wiles, is telling his advisers to bring ideas to the Oval Office to lower gasoline prices in the wake of the U.S. attack on Iran, according to two energy industry executives familiar with the conversations.
The White House is "looking under every rock for ideas on improving energy prices, especially gasoline prices," said one of the executives, who was granted anonymity to describe internal administration discussions.

I have an idea. Here’s my idea: We should have had this meeting last week before we started bombing Iran. www.politico.com/news/2026/03...

do other human beings deserve agency, truly one of mankind’s oldest and most unsolvable questions

in fairness that's not exactly DoD's job on paper, but that's also why you have an interagency involving State and others that scopes the bounds for a conflict which are transmitted from the APNSA to SD; this is what happens when instead of that you have 3 marcos rubio in a trenchcoat

The reason they’re called human rights is all human beings have them. If you’re talking about the supposed exclusive rights of the herrenvolk you should use another term or just switch to German entirely.

No one should be confused on this point. If Miller is forced to choose between effective law enforcement and his ethnic cleansing campaign, and due to the inherent trade offs he is, he'll choose the latter every time.

Almost everything that Miller is advocating for helps the cartels by making immigrants less likely to cooperate with law enforcement and spreading limited resources too thin.

He's completely full of shit.
