Here's the thing if you took the policy positions of Rs, Ds, and 3rd Way, Ds would win hands down on most issues. It's not clear whether 3rd Way's policy platform would poll second or last. It's not clear to me how adopting a less popular platform helps.

The only realistic option is an export ban. I don't know that they can legally get away with doing that, though.

No one should be confused on this point. If Miller is forced to choose between effective law enforcement and his ethnic cleansing campaign, and due to the inherent trade offs he is, he'll choose the latter every time.

Almost everything that Miller is advocating for helps the cartels by making immigrants less likely to cooperate with law enforcement and spreading limited resources too thin.
