This mornings keynote at #Oredev2025 is given by Simon Wardley. Will be great, I suspect. I haven't seen him give a talk before, which just makes me more excited 😊

Dealing with Race Conditions in Event-Driven Architecture with Read Models - Event-Driven.io Event-Driven by Oskar Dudycz

Recurring questions during my consultancy are:
- How to deal with race conditions?
- I'm getting events out of order from other services.

I wrote an article today about the technique that should take you far enough explaining how read models can help you in that.

I want to get to know Brighter better. The gitbook at brightercommand.gitbook.io/paramore-bri... seems like a great and comprehensive resources and there are samples on github (github.com/BrighterComm...).

Anything else I should check out?

Is this www.goparamore.io/hello-world valid?

I want to get to know Brighter a bit - maybe a lot - better. The gitbook at https://brightercommand.gitbook.io/paramore-brighter-documentation/ seems like a great and comprehensive resources and there are samples on github (https://github.com/BrighterCommand/Brighter/tree/master/samples).

So apparently my client has decided that we should (1) start using Cursor, and (2) show up at the office four days a week.

After more than 6 years there, I’m thinking this might be my cue to eject.

Anyone looking for a coder for a remote gig (or hybrid in Stockholm)?

overlooked by many team, I think. It's called "Leveraging the passing of time" and is about planning out deployments to your advantage https://www.meetup.com/arhus-devops-meetup/events/308780325/?slug=arhus-devops-meetup&eventId=308780325

I'm giving a lightning talk tomorrow at the local DevOps meetup. I think you can still sign up if you're in Aarhus and so inclined. I am quite looking forward to Stefan's talk which is the main bit. My talk is about something that is well known and established in the industry, but still

Finally moved to @bitwarden after planning to do so forever. The move took like 20 minutes incl. export/import from old manager, fiddling with setting, activating 2fa, desktop, browser and phone. Super easy

Local model running on box placed in chair with camera on top pointed at the screens on the desk in expensive office space. How else would we know that the agent isn't skipping work?!? πŸ’©

Protip: if you have two autonomous teams that can’t reach an agreement on something, threaten them with an architect.

Plugging @nick_tune's great DDD and architecture Kata Delivericious. I've used it numerous times in workshops and training as the foundation for various types of exercises and will use it again next Thursday.

No. Certainly over-hyped. Might still be useful, though it won't CHANGE EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE FOR EVERYONE

The ØreDev program is out https://oredev.org/program and I'm very happy to be part it. Great conference with a great line up (that i am bit intimidated to be part of) i will be giving the talk I made for ICSA25 about my approach to architecture. It was well received there by the academics,

Been running some training at a company today and yesterday. We used a running example throughout both days fleshing it out more and more from an event storm, to identifying candidate bounded contexts to identifying candidate services and starting to design interfaces. All good. πŸ‘ Except

One of my biggest pieces of advice for junior software engineers:

Ask questions.

Stop worrying about looking dumb. Seriously!

Your colleagues want you to level up fast.
Your colleagues want you to be able to contribute.
Your colleagues want you to be successful in your role.

Software development is a much bigger and broader field than I think most of us realize. Several times a year I'll see someone confidently saying that "most developers do XYZ this way" and describing a way that's quite different than anything I've ever seen
