This vacation has been my “something to look forward to” for a long while, and it’s really hard to believe it’s almost over as we approach the airport. Gonna miss Japan, it’s truly a wonderful place with terrific people.
Parting is such sweet sorrow ❤️
[I just ate both of these]
I bet it’s more authentic here because we’re closer to Australia.
I’m not kidding when I say the taste of dirt in my coffee cup awakened something in me, but it’s shitty drip coffee as god intended and I’m enjoying the hell out of it.
McDonald’s food in Japan: so tiny and kawaii 🤗🤭
McDonald’s coffee in Japan: WHAT THE FUCK IS A KILOMETER 🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Gonna get yelled at for saying this, but I’m ready to be back in the heat and humidity of the American South.
We had to buy an extra checked bag to bring home all the shit we bought on this trip lol
First time at the Sanger is always great
We’ve got the radio feed on during our last train ride, fandom never stops, etc.
Have reached the part of the trip where we’re ready to leave but have like two days left, so we’re gaming out getting to Haneda early and opening a Skymiles Reserve card at the airport so we can get Delta Lounge access, travel brain at its finest.

BASEBALL
Busier than a one-armed paper hanger, tougher than a $2 steak.
People like to make fun of Asian stuff that includes English text to make it look cool, but man we’ve been doing that shit with their languages for years too. It just looks rad.

More thoughts on the train: going to a theme park in the cold feels like a foreign concept, but it’s not a bad one, even getting wet on Jurassic Park wasn’t awful. Speaking of on the train, walking from our hotel to the train and taking public transportation was great at something that’s Not Disney.
Overall observation after a solid 11-hour theme park day in Osaka: the experience is better over here largely because the crowd is just way more chill, though it has all the chaos you’d expect from a theme park day.
Only the great ones get to have their helmet and firesuit displayed.
LET’S FUCKEN GOOOOOOOOOO
Ali and I hit the movies probably 3-4 times per month during the football offseason, we did the Stranger Things finale in a theater because it seemed like it would be fun (and it was!), but also it was clear it was the first time in the theater for many people in forever and mannnn it showed.
We need to go find the pipe don’t we
If y’all ever get over this way, theme park tickets are like, remarkably cheap
This whole pile cost about $5 btw
Stacking cans like it’s college again, but with hot coffee. Japan is living in the Year 3000.
THEME PARK DAAAAAY
It really depends on what you’re looking for, Tokyo is like living ten years in the future but the pace is blistering and constant. Since I’m more of a mid-size city and nature person, Kyoto checked all of my boxes.
Someone’s gonna yell at me for this but after a couple days in each city:
1.) Kyoto
2.) Tokyo
3.) Osaka
WAR RIG
Flew all the way to Japan to buy an Italian saddle, that’s globalism baby
