Our arable farmers are going to convert to Dairy on the Canterbury Plains because there's no 'market' for frozen products, our mills have shut down because we export raw logs
Our economy is 'housing market with bits tacked on', the fundamentals of our economy are broken.
NACC concludes that Kathryn Campbell didn't lie because she had no motive to
They say she had no motive because she was already successful, & wouldn't risk lying for further career advancement. I love it when people with no understanding of greed or hubris run corruption investigations

Excellent! Well overdue!
I hope it becomes a permanent ban Australia-wide, except for under very extreme and specific circumstances, as judged and implemented by genuine experts in pest and wildlife management www.abc.net.au/news/2026-03...
Wishing you lots of luck 🍀
Henry is spot on ... electrification of our energy needs is not just about green requirements (though of course it is) it is about our national security and economic functioning as a nation.
As a net importer of fossil fuels currently, that poses a massive insecure & volatile risk (increasingly so)
Probs belongs in your local agricultural machinery museum. 😊
Brilliant! I have now learnt 2 new things - the historic existence of smaller round bales and their hill country feeding out qualities. Genius thank you 😊
Anyone supporting National Party that thinks this sort of redneck comment and political stance is ok then you can all get fucked and in the bin.
Go fight an idiots war you truly think Australia is at risk.
Don’t deserve to be here.

Air NZ Airpoints members, be alert to a new scam. Just got this by text. Puzzled by the lack of notice, I went to the Air NZ app in my phone to check and only then did I realise that's way more Airpoints than I actually have 🤦♀️ After that I could see the number & URL were also sus, of course.
Disappointed I was the only MP to vote against 2nd reading of Govt-Oppn bill that will give the Minister power to stop entire classes of temp visa holders arriving in Aus. A discriminatory policy letting the Govt decide which imperilled ppl are worth saving. #auspol #politas

Not long until the #flu #vaccine becomes available.
Whatever the season holds, it's a good idea to be vaccinated before it.
#Influenza kills, causes hospitalisation & can affect your heart & brain. Inflammation from infections is not your friend in the long term.

Optionality. I didn’t know a word could actually make my skin crawl.
I had to find a pic of one working. I did not know about the round bales! digitalnz.org/records/4376...

Yesterday I filmed several baby birds walking across a street directly at my camera and asked Bluesky to suggest music
Several dozen folks did
Some even dubbed music over the original clip.
I haven't been able to get this out of my head.
So I give you

We stood together against anti-Palestinian racism and they cancelled our festival. So we organised our own.

Near the end of my residency at State Library Victoria, I had a chat with Paula Bray about the stuff I've been doing for the past 30 years, and why I think it's important. It's online now if you want to listen: https://lab.slv.vic.gov.au/experiments/my-place-tim-sherratt/interview #GLAM […]
The production of tools from bones was a major component of subsistence in prehistoric China too!
Initially a household industry, it became more specialised and standardised over time, underpinning (see what we did there 😉) the formation of complex societies.

Things used in everyday life are the real archaeological treasures!
This sewing needle was made from animal bone some 13,000 years ago.
Some designs simply don't need to be improved, because form and functions were perfectly matched from the start

I often think of Paul Keating’s line that if Australia didn’t adjust to new realities, we’ll become the “Poor white trash of Asia”.

If you're doomscrolling, guess what? So far there are 51 kākāpō chicks hatched and thriving this season, the same number of birds as we had in TOTAL in the 90s! Only one chick has died and there are still fertile eggs waiting to hatch!
