My all-time favourite is still Civ II allowing you to build elephants after researching polytheism. I think, had I understood what polytheism meant aged 8, it could have rather skewed my view of religion.

Spectacle et jeux du cirque : Alex Honnold en solo intΓ©gral et en direct sur Netflix
Alpine Mag | montagne et aventure
I found 1 of the more interesting aspects of 'Free Solo' to be Honnold's conflict over doing the climb on camera (sadly downplayed except for the notable scene with Peter Croft).
I don't think it bodes well culturally that he seems to have lost his reticence about making his climbs into spectacles.

In the past ten years, Swiss glaciers have lost a quarter of their volume.
Scientists fear that there will be practically no glacier left in Switzerland - nor France - by the end of the century, with dire consequences for freshwater availability and the stability of mountain terrains.

Hard to now what the best response is if you think more people having greater access to nature is a good thing but also want to limit the impacts of that.
Perhaps more experienced practitioners should be heading to less popular areas or going in less popular seasons and so helping to reduce demand?

Adventure Is Being Planned Out Of Existence
Are we taking the wild out of the wilderness by competing to book campsites five months in advance and previewing tent pads online? Kevin Callan weighs in
This struck a chord with me. Reservation systems are an understandable response to increasing visitor numbers, but they're the death of spontaneity and the harbinger of commodification.

The even better version of this is walking up to a traffic light that's already changed but none of the waiting people have noticed and you walk across like Moses parting the red sea if some other bloke had already parted it for him.

The article states (in the second paragraph) that the pothole reporting thing sits 'alongside' the digital ID.
Basically the app that allows you to interact with various levels of the state would also hold your digital ID.
Apparently that warrants caps lock and hundreds of retweets.

I understand that line of thinking, but I'm of the view that any sufficiently inclined government can make the lives of immigrants incredibly unpleasant without a digital ID system. Indeed, we have a very recent example of how a lack of ID can be used by the state to ruin people's lives.
