Read, continue to learn, be motivated by compassion and never stop growing. This is how strength and resilience becomes natural and you can know yourself.
Also, I should say, I am okay. I just got brutally called out by the youngest this morning who compared my fashion sense to a "standard 40 something dad". Also, I apparently "dress like a Peanuts character". If you don't want to adopt a cat you can have my child.

And this combustible mixture of ignorance and power, sooner or later, is going to blow up in our faces. Who is running the science and technology in a democracy if the people don't know anything about it?" "Science is more than a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking. A way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human fallibility. If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to interrogate those who tell us that something is true, to be skeptical of those in authority, then we're up for grabs for the next charlatan, political or religious, who comes ambling along."
I think a lot about what Carl Sagan said in one of his final interviews.

Listen. This whole recurring "woe is the poor young man today; they don't have any good role models" discourse?
Not actually a new problem! Just another problem that America's been kicking down the curb for decades, like so many others.

It's #Caturday and we have new fosters as of yesterday. We knew Sweet Potato was coming a week ago and that she was "very heavily pregant". Well, she gave birth yesterday and came to us just 3 hours later. Despite such a massive day she's incredibly friendly.
