A quote from me in @thetimes.com yesterday

I was perhaps being somewhat provocative, but can a self-proclaimed technical authority (the UK NCSC) be also driving market and political change?

After a very eventful and reflective #CHI2025, just found out that we have been successful in more funding to continue this work!

What a great sweetener to end on!

It's more that AWS is a critical infrastructure, rather that critical infrastructure necessarily sitting on it (in that the interconnectedness of AWS and other clouds have expanded what is now considered critical too)

Putting this back here because yes the deep border is everywhere, it certainly doesnโ€™t respect โ€œcompartmentalized dataโ€ (are people really surprised that DOGE links data sources arbitrarily & violently?)

Heathrowโ€™s shutdown fuels questions about UKโ€™s infrastructure resilience Within hours of a fire at a power substation, one of the worldโ€™s busiest airports was closed to all flights

The Heathrow incident shows how important information - over cyber - security is for operational resilience. Itโ€™s about the whole โ€˜stack.โ€™ I also think we need to reevaluate the UK flavour of โ€˜risk basedโ€™ governance that is consistently used to do the minimum investment possible.

UK universities warned to โ€˜stress-testโ€™ assessments as 92% of students use AI Survey of 1,000 students shows โ€˜explosive increaseโ€™ in use of generative AI in particular over past 12 months

Students are using AI - from note taking, to explaining concepts, and writing and development. As much as AI will be useful what is learning without tension? That is, learning emerges during points of caesura - learning is not efficient information transfer

A Multistakeholder Model of Cyber Peace The international community needs a new model for maintaining peace and security in cyberspace.

This is noble idea from Jason Healey and colleagues; but questions of trust and legitimacy still are problematic, especially in the dominance of the โ€˜westโ€™ and how the US simply is not seen as a reliable partner.
