The reaction is to find comfort. Not justice, or a better world for the whole of humanity. It's a movement that works very hard to not move at all due to the fear of the unknown.

I think that's the truth that's hard to swallow. The fact is no one is OK. We are all just kind of expected to feel like we are. Meanwhile the world is going to shit, real fast.
Trying to find solidarity in times like this, it's a real struggle. Thanks for hearing me out.
I'm not OK, I guess. And I am trying really hard to be OK with not being OK.

Oh, that's kind of what I am leaning towards as well. The specific actions determined by someone's class/playbook would allow you to aim for specific tricks combos to gain more and more points.
So you are always working together against the GM, but the GM can modify the rules a bit and has a much bigger hand than the individual players.
So the truth is I am thinking of running it like a table vs the GM system. I just learned that the original game played with a Torat deck is a similar game to Spades where you play tricks against each other.
I am wondering if by having the table try to beat a GM for each action in a round.
There are a lot of versions since it's an old game! You will find different styles based on location and even decades.
I need to play Hearts it seems. I am actually not deeply familiar with a lot of card games, but I wonder how directly you can translate playing one in another game.
Eloise has a lot going on, and Atlas has some questionsโฆ

I actually want to see if I can set up a trick taking game of the players vs the GM, so there should be a lot less yelling.
I have never played Hearts, but I see it's a trick taking game as well!
If I am being completely honest, I am more interested in playing the traditional Torat game since I learned it's also a trick game. I just am worried it's too complicated for a quick resolution.
Thank you!
I have never heard of it! Google is giving me a racing game, is that what you are talking about?
Has anyone used Spades as a resolution mechanic in a TTRPG?
I'm noodling something here.
I have made a list of Black creatives I believe you should support!

I got a scholarship to the largest #VO convention in the WORLD thanks to NAVA Voices... AAAND now I gotta get there. I HATE asking for help all the time, when 1,000,000,000 other mutual aids are out there, so sharing does help. Hopefully, my scheduled gigs shake out, BUT-

I have seen a lot of cursed stuff in my time in academia but this is among the *most* cursed.
Grammarly is generating miniature LLMs based on academic work so that users can have their writing โreviewedโ by experts like David Abulafia, who died less than two months ago.
