I like how sometimes folks from other countries just call us “The States” because dropping that word is the way things are here a lot of the time.

The amount that I have to pay for these two common and simple tests the same as what I earn pre-tax in six hours as a registered nurse with employer-based health care coverage. Honestly, how is this okay? I really don’t understand how things cost so much, and I refuse to believe they ACTUALLY do.

It’s disgusting to me that one can have “good” insurance coverage and still be charged hundreds of dollars for SIMPLE lab work. Make it make sense.

My fastest crocheted blanket yet! Started on the day my newest nephew was born, I was able to finish with washing, blocking, and pictures just 3 weeks later. I didn’t anticipate how much size the border would add, but it will bring comfort and warmth beyond the baby years! 🩶

Cohosted by the AHN Center for Inclusion Health, UPMC Addiction Medicine, and Highmark Wholecare, our topic this year was “Bridging the Harm Reduction Gap”, a nod to both the bridges of the 412 and @myharmreduction.bsky.social’s book, “The Harm Reduction Gap” (a must-read!).
