He is loyal to a fault however, especially to his twin, but as Aether has found his place in life, Kieran is still actively looking for a place to belong.

He hides his mental, emotional and physical scars behind a mask of brattiness and sardonic humor, but he is damaged and very few people have seen beyond the mask to the suffering soul beneath it. He knows how to keep things bottled up and focuses on others over himself.

He is taciturn and sarcastic, he hides the pain and trauma of being an organic weapon and experimented on since birth. He was more than intelligent, his genius was more than just military tactics, he could empathize with anyone and read their emotions and intent without even knowing them.

Kieran is a complex character, and I don't have enough characters to detail about him. Being Aether's twin, he is the polar opposite of Aether himself.

When Aether was assigned to investigate strange happenings in the Holysee, he befriended Haurchefant Greystone of House Foretemps, and the two became fast friends, over the course of Aether's investigation into the Holysee however, Haurchefant was slain, to Aether's horror and grief.

When a personal matter took Tetsuya away from his leadership position, he assigned Aether in his place, which earned ire from two of the Four Horsemen. Destiny and Delirium, two members of the Four, stuck to Aether as guardians and loyalists, while Death (Tetsuya) was gone and Desire refused him.

The Hand argued that there were too many eyes on Aether after being declared the Warrior of Light, and as he was quick and capable of making friends and allies with little effort, they worried that he might bring too much attention and had challenged Tetsuya to get rid of him.

It was in the summer of Aether's 18th year that Tetsuya had seen enough of his unwavering dedication that he began to look at other qualities the 'boy' was capable of, when it was determined that Aether was capable of the Echo, he became a much more prominent figure among the people of Eorzea.

Accepting this, Tetsuya 'collared' Aether to his every whim, any job Tetsuya set before him was carried out to the letter, even the more challenging jobs of taking lives that had overstayed their welcome,

In an effort to spare his brother's fate and convince the Hand that he was willing to sacrifice everything to save Kieran's life, Aether promised himself in servitude to Tetsuya directly, under the condition that the Hand and Tetsuya himself, would never cause Kieran harm.

A rivalry between Tetsuya and Kieran ensued, with Kieran refusing to allow his younger twin to be shackled by a debt owed and had challenged Tetsuya on his own terms, despite defeating Tetsuya at his own game, he was marked for death by the Four, Tetsuya's trusted.

On a particular mission against a rival group, Aether proved adept at aethereal manipulation and was capable of overthrowing the Wonderland Troupe, much to Kieran's chagrin and catching the attention of the Death's Hand leadership, Tetsuya.

At 16, Aether wanted to do what he could to help Kieran maintain their livelihood, and fell in with a crowd of wanted ruffians known as "Death's Hand", who acted as info brokers and government overseers with the intent of keeping politics 'honest'.

For the latter part of their lives, they lived as urchins, Kieran doing everything he could to earn a living and making sure that Aether wanted for nothing, no matter how the trade was meant to go.

Often left for hours at a time with no real food, water, or heat, Kieran took to pickpocketing people, often at the expense of Aether's doleful eyes and innocent expressions. In order to feed and care for them both, Kieran took on the role of a thief and often had to find places for them to stay.

[BACKGROUND]
Aether had a very tumultuous childhood, one that saw him cut from his parent's womb alongside his (elder) twin brother Kieran, and given to a woman desperate for coin.

While the woman raised the pair until the age of 10, she did not raise them well.

He enjoys the colors of Tungsten gray with deep purple accents and black when fighting, gunmetal, silver, and ocean blue as a protector, and white with silver and purple accents as a support.
