My mastectomy and pre-reconstruction surgery last year cost over 750k. And that doesn't take into account all the MRIs, bloodwork and crap leading up to the surgery. Without insurance, my family and I would be doomed.

I told my mom I wanted to learn to play the saxophone and she told me no, that it was a boy’s instrument.
Today, my surgery clearance check up turned into a post-cancer therapy session when my VERY young 30’s doctor told me she also had it and was a few months post-mastectomy. We dropped some f-bombs, tried to laugh about early menopause, and hugged at the end. What an awful, wonderful club to be in.
