3/ If the just opposition to evil must transcend mere retaliation or revenge, seeking instead to break the cycle of violence, it cannot do so at the expense of justice.
A fragile concord may be reached, but true peace remains elusive when justice is relegated to a footnote...
2/ From a cynical political perspective, to stop this situation, dialogue and negotiations that bypass the question of justice and truth appear as the pragmatic and cheaper solution. Talk or perish. But what kind of peace can be built on silence, impunity, and amnesia?

Their blood cries out louder than Abel’s. We are in a situation where those who claim to represent or fight for the liberation and rights of the "oppressed" are the real oppressors and aggressors.
No one has written much until now about Rwandan casualties in the M23 military operation in DRC. But the Rwandan army is taking heavy losses, and Rwandan families are grieving their lost sons. Our investigation for the Guardian: www.theguardian.com/global-devel...

DRC Conflict “The international community has neglected this conflict for too long. It has not been vocal enough in calling for the immediate withdrawal of Rwandan troops, and an end to its long-standing support for the M23 rebel movement.” Elders’ Statement | 4.2.2025 Read in full via The Elders' website

Refuse to be crushed, not by dreaming of rising again, but by laboring to rise. Do not resign yourself to spectating your own demise; forge the path of your rebirth.

Hardships can wear you down, erode your inner resistance, and extend suffering that does not lead to triumphant resilience or a sturdier rebirth, but to a slow erosion of the being.
The goal is not merely to survive, but to create – amid the suffering – a space for reconstruction.
What doesn’t kill you doesn’t necessarily make you stronger. It can weaken you and prolong your agony until your final breath. How you respond matters.
