For a more standard example, Kirby's Adventure has a great final boss theme

Cragpole, the Ground-type 'Buoyant' Pokemon, and Fibiribi, the Ground/Fighting 'War Cry' Pokemon, based on the desert rain frog. Cragpole is a tadpole with a helmet-like firm muddy carapace, while Fibiribi is a pinkish-red chubby frog with a spiny black back.

i had a sudden idea last night for a pokemon firered romhack that entirely takes place in the sevii isles and basically turns their miniquests into a full short campaign

knuckles is the most powerful character because in sonic 3 his base form he can punch the chaos emeralds out of super sonic. other characters can only scratch him for a few rings of chip damage in super forms of their own or require diabolical traps (coding errors) to damage him proper.

guy literally permanently alters his life at the first opportunity and tries to pass it off as 'whoops lol i exceeded the two hours ¯\_(ツ)_/¯' you can't tell me there's not at least some gender questioning going on

i have to say the za megas batch, in terms of designs, might be the most solid set yet

definitely a lot better than the oras batch overall and especially better than later 'super modes' like gmax or the paradoxes. Very solid design schemes for a lot of them and they usually don't go too overboard

Mega Scrafty's stats: 65 / 130 / 135 / 55 / 135 / 68 It's bulky on both sides while still hitting decently hard, and we don't even know its ability yet

Smash Remix has a clever workaround where Crash has the belly flop as a reckless recovery move true to his character, but you can't do that for everyone

Fan smash movesets take more thought than one would think because like... every platformer mascot has a variant of Mario's ground pound. It's just a good thing to have in a 3D platformer. But does that mean the likes of Spyro, Crash, or even existing chars like Pac Man should have stall-n-falls?
