The first fight was so WEIRD! And like cool thanks for doing THAT immediately?? Like no build up? Cool cool cool. I did really enjoy the ending of the second episode but the effects fully took me out. They rely wayyyy to much on VFX and CGI for everything and it’s so obvious.
I think the show is fine! But I love the original DD show so much and I had very high hopes which is definitely my own fault. But I do feel like a lot of people (cishet men specifically) are overhyping it. Especially when that same group shits on any MCU show that isn’t male-led/focused.
My concerns are mainly with the tone and dialogue than the actual production of the show. My beef feels more with the MCU in general and them not being able to create a dark/gritty show like the OG. They’re good at larger than life and quippy/snarky superheroes. Not street level vigilantes sadly.
