An excellent question. A lot of my writing inspiration is the just wonder I felt for the concept as a whole. The main reason I write is as a way to express myself. However if I had to point out specific people, probably Edgar Allan Poe, and other classic writer. They truly knew how to use words!

I do this is for 2 reason.
First, I believe the environment can reflect personality. A lot of people like to imagine others’ (especially characters) personality by visualizing it in their head.
Second, Josen has a strong set of ideals, but like any man, even a foundation made of wood can burn.

A few people have asked me what my process is when introducing a character. Interestingly enough, I am a firm believer that the environment is a big part of a characters memorability. I do this why my protagonist, Josen. I introduce his character within his home; a comfortable but rustic wood cabin.
