If you know me long enough you know that I led a protest against our incumbent mayor two years ago. They voted her back in in 2023 and they voted her back in tonight. They forgot the grave injustices done to people I care about deeply. Tonight I wallow… tomorrow we fight.

Everyone on this TL is so happy and I’m genuinely happy for the greater victories here too.

But I’m beyond heartbroken over my local race. My suburban city. My home. My friend Marsha Silverman is always for the people. She works her ass off and we worked our asses for her. I am shattered.

Food used to be my biggest coping mechanism and I never understood people who couldn’t eat when they were stressed

As much as I’m seeing the “why do these people need food stamps” posts, I’m also seeing people getting ready to come to the rescue. Businesses offering food for free. While they shouldn’t have to, it’s what they should do and it’s nice that they actually know it.
